This has been a staple in my diet for years. I love cereal and always will. Most of us grew up on it. And I know many people that like to have cereal at night as a snack. Here’s a great way to feel full and have a bowl of cereal at night.
- Pick a cereal (if you’re worried about sugar content pick cheerios or rice flakes)
- Make sure the protein has xanthan gum, cellulose gum or guar gum in it for full whip. (quest works great)Other proteins may not have this and it will not whip up. It will be more like water. If you would like you could buy xanthan gum on its own to add. Beware of using too much as it can upset your stomach.
- Whip protein with 5 ice cubes and 8-10 ounces of water. (you will notice it will start to whip up)
- Enjoy a tasty treat
This is dieting friendly if you do it properly. The protein will keep its flavor if you use half a scoop. Try to use slightly less water. Also try to pick a high volume cereal. Cheerios are 100 calories for 30grams. Using a small bowl could entitle you to use a serving and a half of cheerios only costing you 150 calories. Half of a protein shake is roughly 60 calories and 12 grams of protein. This could be a filling snack after dinner!
Good luck guys I hope this is a helpful “treat” for your dieting journey!
