What is the post workout window?

-A way for you to stress out about something and buy a product so you don’t feel like your workout was a waste.

I hope this definition helps you haha

post workout window and muscle protein synthesis-“It has been shown that muscle protein synthetic rate (MPS) is elevated in humans by 50% at 4 hrs following a bout of heavy resistance training, and by 109% at 24 hrs following training. This study further examined the time course for elevated muscle protein synthesis by examining its rate at 36 hrs following a training session. Six healthy young men performed 12 sets of 6- to 12-RM elbow flexion exercises with one arm while the opposite arm served as a control. MPS was calculated from the in vivo rate of incorporation of L-[1,2-13C2] leucine into biceps brachii of both arms using the primed constant infusion technique over 11 hrs. At an average time of 36 hrs postexercise, MPS in the exercised arm had returned to within 14% of the control arm value, the difference being nonsignificant. It is concluded that following a bout of heavy resistance training, MPS increases rapidly, is more than double at 24 hrs, and thereafter declines rapidly so that at 36 hrs it has almost returned to baseline.”

I gotta eat right after or ill lose all my gains bro.. this is a common misconception

the post workout window  we hear about  and the time for everybody to eat after exercise actually is real in a sense, but it’s not as small of a window as you think. The  “2 hour rule” is more like a “24 to 48 hour rule”. See, the reason that it’s set up this way is most people can’t get to food after they are exercising. If they do not have time or access whole food after they’re exercising they’re going to have to rely on some drink or something to get down really quick.$$$$

So they don’t lose their gains BRO. Now I believe that it may have some benefit to have a decent meal after you workout with  some protein, carbs and fat, but I don’t believe that it necessarily has to be 1 to 2 hours after. Personally, I would feel sluggish and tired after eating. I like the energy I get after working out and I wouldn’t reap the benefits of the “feel great” after exercise if I ate too soon. (Listen to your body, drink water after you exercise and wait for a hunger signal physiologically).  This is just advice. Do whatever feels right to you. Don’t be afraid to give this a try. This is for common awareness for guys that stress about their post workout nutrition right after exercising! Your body is smart. It knows what to do.
